Modifications to this lightning longblade cause a 

restriction to the overall power flow through the

weapon's conductors, meaning the gradual damage

caused by continual high current may be remidied at

the colony repair terminals. It appears the offset is a

limit on the maximum power that can be put through

the weapon without burning out the conductors

beyond repair.
