The Fletcher fires a cloud of needle-shaped projectiles, that individually penetrates the target with fairly low stopping power. Howerver, as it fires so many at a time, the result is similar to what would happen if someone fired a pincushion at you with a high-velocity cannon. Dozens of the small projectiles hits the target as one.
