These Giant Silver Backs are extraordinary creatures with a sublime intelligence. They have found their way to the island through Time Portals opened by opportunists in search of the Legendary KING KONG.
Although Giant as a family, it appears there can only be one KING KONG living at any one time. It's suspected that a Royal King will not mature to a King status while there is a living King. Attempts to create Time Portals opened to points in time before or after the creation of the original Skull Island Map in the 1930's have all failed. So for all intents and purposes there will only ever be one KING KONG.
Note: Time Travel Portals that require an artifact to pinpoint the desired destination in time and Space can only be opened to one moment in time. Usually the moment that the artefact from the time and place was created.
